**Skate Sizing Guide**
Finding the right fit for your skates is crucial for comfort and performance. Unlike regular shoes, skates should fit slightly snugger to ensure optimal control and stability. Here’s how to determine the best skate size for you:
Step 1: Measure Your Foot
Place a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall. Stand on the paper with your heel against the wall and mark the paper where your longest toe ends. Measure the distance from the wall to the mark in centimetres or inches. It’s best to measure both feet and use the larger measurement as your guide.
Step 2: Check the Size Chart
Use the measurement from Step 1 to find your size in the skate size chart. Remember, each brand (and sometimes model) may vary slightly in sizing, so it's important to check the specific chart for the skate you are interested in.
Step 3: Understand the Fit
Skates should fit more snugly than your regular shoes:
- Toe Room: Your toes should barely touch the toe cap of the skate. There should not be excessive room in front of your toes, but they also shouldn't be cramped or curled.
- Width: Skates should feel tight but not uncomfortable around the widest part of your foot. Over time, the material will conform slightly to your foot shape.
- Heel: Your heel should be securely positioned in the back of the skate without slipping. A small amount of heel movement is normal, but it should not lift out of the boot.
Step 4: Wear Them In
When you first try on your skates, wear the type of socks you’ll skate in. Lace the skates up fully to ensure a precise fit. Walk around in them to feel for any potential pressure points or slippage.
Step 5: Adjustment Period
Allow some time to break in your new skates. They may feel tighter initially but will become more comfortable as the material molds to the shape of your foot.
Tips
- If you are between sizes, consider the larger size for a better fit.
- Consider any additional insoles or orthotics you may need, as these can affect the fit.
For the best performance and comfort, it’s essential that your skates fit correctly. If you’re unsure about the sizing or have specific fit concerns, please contact us we'll be happy to help :)

**Scooter Sizing Guide**
Selecting the correct scooter size enhances safety and comfort by ensuring that the handlebars align with the rider's bellybutton. Here's how to find the right fit:
1. Measure Rider Height: Measure the rider's height from the floor to their bellybutton, with shoes on, as this affects the standing height.
2. Check Handlebar Height: The scooter's handlebars should match the height of the rider's bellybutton to maintain an upright posture and minimise back strain.
3. Choose the Right Scooter: Pick a scooter where the handlebars can adjust to the rider’s bellybutton level. Ensure the rider can comfortably reach the handlebars without stretching or bending.
Additional Considerations:
Weight Limit: Check the weight limit of the scooter to ensure it can safely support the rider.
Wheels and Brakes: Consider the type and size of wheels based on where the scooter will be used (e.g., smooth urban surfaces versus rougher, uneven paths). Also, ensure the brakes are accessible and easy to use for the rider.
Adjustability: Adjustable handlebars are highly recommended as they allow the scooter to grow with the rider or be adjusted for different family members. The only exception to this is when looking are a stunt or pro scooter. By design, handelbars for these scooters are a single fixed size. This is done to provide a stronger handlebar to withstand the demands put onto these scooters.
Scooter Maintenance Tips:
- Regularly check the scooter’s condition, including the tightness of all screws and the state of the wheels and brakes.
- Keep the scooter dry and clean, storing it indoors when not in use to prolong its life.
Selecting the correct scooter size based on handlebar height at the rider’s bellybutton level ensures the scooter is a good fit for the rider's height, promoting better control and a more comfortable ride.
